PMI New Jersey (PMINJ) is seeking a Data Analyst to assist in collecting, analyzing, and reporting member and event data. As part of the Data Analytics Team, you’ll play a key role in transforming raw data into actionable insights that help PMINJ enhance member engagement, improve event planning, and support other strategic initiatives. |

Your leadership will help create a strong analytics culture within PMINJ. |
• Gather data from various chapter sources (membership records, event attendance logs, surveys) • Ensure data integrity by performing quality checks, identifying inconsistencies, and cleaning datasets. • Conduct basic quantitative analyses (e.g., trends, correlations) to uncover patterns in membership activity, event attendance, and other chapter metrics. • Contribute to presentations or infographics that illustrate how data insights can inform better decision-making. • Propose new metrics or methods for gathering actionable insights across membership, events, surveys, and programs. • Present findings to chapter leadership and lead conversations around data-driven decisions. • Participate in periodic team meetings or virtual check-ins to discuss progress, challenges, and new data requests. • Stay current on emerging data tools, techniques, and best practices relevant to nonprofit or member-based organizations. • Estimated time commitment is an average of 8-12 hours per month |

• Data Analysis Experience: Some experience in collecting and analyzing data (could be through prior professional roles, academic projects, or personal portfolios). • Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with spreadsheet software (Excel or Google Sheets) or basic data tools. Experience with advanced analytics tools (e.g., Python, R, Thoughtspot, Power BI) is a plus, but not required. • Attention to Detail: Ability to spot errors, validate information, and maintain data accuracy. • Problem-Solving Mindset: Proactive in identifying patterns, anomalies, or opportunities to improve existing processes. • Skilled in identifying challenges, addressing risks, and proposing creative solutions that advance the chapter’s mission. • Strong Communication & Presentation Skills • Proficient at presenting complex findings in a clear, actionable format. • Comfortable engaging with senior leadership, clarifying data requirements, and translating technical details for non-technical audiences. • Eagerness to volunteer in a collaborative environment, contributing to PMINJ’s mission of serving New Jersey’s project management community. |
