Summary:   This free service is offered to all New Jersey PMI members. The Mentorship program links experienced and knowledgeable project managers with those who would like a mentor to guide them through the steps of becoming a valuable project manager.

Note:

• This program is NOT for assisting with Job Search. Apply to the Work Search Buddy program or seek assistance from the Career Networking LCI.
• This program does not assist with training or applying for the PMP certification. Identify training available or contact the vp-Professional Development.

Responsibilities:   • Membership in the New Jersey PMI chapter in good standing
• A desire to learn more about Project Management
• Improve your knowledge in the Project Management process, methodology, artifacts etc.

You will be matched with someone similar to your industry who will help you to understand and gain more knowledge in the Project Management area to become a more confident project manager.

Mentee Responsibilities Agreement:

Becoming a mentee is a serious commitment. To ensure a successful mentorship engagement with your assigned mentor, here are the top responsibilities - but not the only ones - that you MUST agree to assume. (Note: Not agreeing to ALL responsibilities will disqualify you from being a Mentee.) ONLY APPLY if you agree to these responsibilities:
  • Mentee will come prepared to each meeting with an agenda of topics and status to focus on.
  • Mentee will provide open and honest information regarding their desire for professional growth.
  • Mentee will receive feedback and suggestions provided by the Mentor with an open mind.
  • Mentee will complete and submit PMINJ Mentors program's meeting summary form within 2 days of meeting.
  • Mentee to give at least 24-hours advance notice to Mentor to cancel any scheduled meeting.
