Volunteer Title:     Rowan - Virtual PM Career Presentation

Summary:   Introduce Project Management as a Career Option for Business School Students

Volunteer will craft and deliver a one-time, one-hour, virtual presentation with Q&A hosted by the Rowan MIS Club (https://rowan.campuslabs.com/engage/organization/misclub) and potentially including other preprofessional organizations. Presentation will introduce the volunteer and share how project management has shaped their career. Special focus will be given to project management topics in MIS and career learnings as a project manager. Q&A may be facilitated by a faculty member, and a recording of the Q&A will be made available to an asynchronous online project management course running in the fall semester.
Benefits of volunteering   
for this role:  
Volunteers will help generate enthusiasm for and interest in PM as a profession and help to build PM capabilities in undergraduate students. Volunteers will also have an opportunity to interact with students, faculty, and staff of Rowan University.
Responsibilities:   • Join one virtual preparatory meeting in October with the faculty member advising the MIS Club and teaching the asynchronous online course to develop the presentation topic.
• Participate virtually in an MIS Club meeting, to be scheduled at the mutual convenience of the volunteer, the club, and (possibly) the contact faculty member, delivering an introduction to your industry and your career in an informal talk of approximately 45 minutes (formal presentation materials are encouraged). Participate in Q&A with staff and students for up to 15 minutes.
Desired Skills:   Working knowledge of MIS topics and current PM practices in any industry, especially Predictive (Waterfall) and Scrum methodologies.

A very brief “interview” will be held to confirm a possible MIS topic list before meeting with the faculty member
